___I would love to compete in official amateur mile and sub-mile races. I competed in a train-hard semiofficial mile race recently, and had to e-mail the organizer just to find my official time.
___I would love for more half-mile or 800 m road races to be held in New Jersey as well as track and field meets for non-juniors.
___However, my dream is for non-long distance runners in New Jersey to have something like the New Balance Grand Prix for the long distance runners. We could be put just in two categories: up to 800 m including 800 m held on the track, and road races between 800 m and 3 K.

If you are over 40 yoa look for Masters track meets. Go to the USATF website and you can link to the masters meets schedules. Seems like there should be some in your area.

A couple of years ago I ran the 5K in the Georgia State Masters Track Meet. It was a lot of fun.

There'll probably be track meets for your age, though you may have trouble finding larger fields of people to compete with.

As for short, off-track races, they are few and far between here in BC, but I'd like to see more.

I e-mailed the two new Grand Prix idea to the USATF New Jersey. However, I doubt that it will happen without enough grassroots support. It may be possible, if the USATF New Jersey and USATF Long Island would cooperate to get it going.
