Some of the plyometrics and medicine ball type exercises would be a good place to start. Lots of books and videos to choose from... They'll cover the basics of core strength, agility, coordination, etc.

Oh, if it's that type of coordination then I know a few workouts. One workout is the classic tire-step that soccer players go over oftenly. Another type of workout is to run in a shape on the field. For example, run a triangle on the field without turning your body. That means that you need to run laterally, diagonally, etc. You can also do slaloms. Look into football, soccer, and basketball training. I must be specific -- I do agree!
I could never get that step and I have a problem with cross-country skier exercise as well as I can swim forward crawl only in an uneven but otherwise proper way.
I used to play goally and defender: my eye--and--hand, eye--and--leg coordination is fine. I can even work with my left and right hands at the same time.
However, my cross coordination is bad!
I mean left hand right leg or vice versa.
I do believe that the easiest way to get over it would be to swim forward crawl a lot and slowly get into the proper even movement.

Swimming is a great way to move your arms and legs, I agree. Martial arts may work too.
I myself have great news, I achieved the side splits for the first time! They took soooo long to get down, but I finally made it. This is off topic, but I reccomend you get into the splits. They help with a bunch of things; dancing, flexibility, etc. The basic way is to first start off with stretching each calf muscle, hamstring muscle, quad muscle, glute muscle, and then do a butterfly stretch. Each one is held for 30 seconds. Then you do each type of splits; side, right-front, and left-front, each held 60 seconds. Hi
I've just joined the group. Since 2004 I've been running for fun (1 hour a day) but now I'm planning to takie part in Cracovia Maraton. I have just 4 weeks to improve my condition. Any suggestion ahow to develop training program? |

With only 4 weeks to go until an event as long as a marathon, all you can do with a new training program is get too sore to race... Better to just continue on with what you've been doing up to this point and build a bit more mileage if possible.

Agreed really not much you can do - Hays in the barn at this point... be comfortable get a longer run in this weekend (nothing crazy) and enjoy it _________________ The long run is what puts the tiger in the cat. |
