|
|
This is my second season running, and have noticed, regardless how cold it is, the majority of men still wear shorts? Why aren't most men comfortable - like the ladies - wearing spandex running tights?
I sometimes feel like the only one dressed inappropriately in spandex tights. Personally I find it warmer and especially when raining, I have less episodes of pulled muscles.
Thanks for any input...just want to put my mind at ease when I sign up for my next run. |

I wear shorts all day, every day, even in snow, but I wear long pants for running when it's about 55* or cooler.

But "long pants" are not the same as tights. Why not tights? Do you not find they give you better range of motion, less material to hinder your run, no chaffing, and so much lighter?
Tks! |

I prefer a slightly looser fitting cut. I don't care what it looks like, I'm just interested in comfort. If you've never tried the original Sporthill cut, it's a revelation.

Actually, I've never tried on the Sporthill brand. I've seen some wearing them, but have always had the preference for tighter fitting pants to hold things in place. Also, like the feel of the tightness along the entire length of the leg (seems as though there's less drag on windy days). |

I've always found that eventually one gets accustomed to being out in the cold. Its had an effect in my daily life. I can easily wear casual shorts when its around 50s and people ask me "AREN'T YOU COLD???!!!" and I say "no' _________________ Je suis rapide! |

It's true, it really depends on the individual.
I'm acustom to the tropical weather, and anything below 60, I'm in tights and a long t-shirt. |

In fact I think weather is something one can accustom to the same way one gets accustomed to hills: going to the EXTREME! Obviously running gargantuan hills will make you think any other hill is a breeze. I believe the same concept is applied to weather. Part of my tolerance to cold weather is actually camping in the Michigan winter where temps can dip below 5 degrees Farhenheit overnight! Though, I sweating bullets the first day it hits 70 and by the end of the summer I'm fine. _________________ Je suis rapide! |

Wearing more aids with the bullet like sweating...so I'll stick with the tights...I feel so much more secure and less exposed. I trust there are others who share my views. |
