Yeah same here...it's all I've been thinking about since the Olympic Games finished...I think to punish him further, they should put him the a race with +2.0 wind and and then MO has an 0.104 RT, then he can run 9.77 and take back his WR as he should do. THEN, Montgomery should be banned ahahahaha
Seriously though, do you think that when MO gets his WR back, he will find some kind of new, altered cofidence? I think he would, as it would say to the world that MO can run sub-9.80 cleanly, and is worthy of the WR. Then prehaps MO would relax and run faster than ever... _________________ Doubt whom you will, But never yourself.

How exactly would it say that? Tim has tested positive about as many times as Mo has... Tim just happened to have his undetectable regimen turned over to the testing authorities. I guarantee you BALCO didn't have the only such system in place.

Montgomery and Gaines have their hearings Monday. Short article in the paper today said that Barry Bonds didn't care for the way THG made him feel!!
Here's an entertaining link for you. I love this stuff. Just ordered 2 cases.

On a more serious side, here is an article that probably does more to explain the entire prohormone phenomenon than anything I've seen so far.

(just kidding about the 2 cases) _________________ Paul

Anyone think stuff like that will truly stop production in 70 days?

There's an interesting interview with Charlie Francis on that website.

I can't really argue with that. I'm just a bit too biased towards Mo.
Anyway, the fact that the drugs hearing has been put back even further, just complicates the whole situation.
Has anyone read the Charlie Francis interview (in the link that I posted)?
I think much of what he says has meaning, but saying that 80% of world-class performers are on PEDs is a bit far-fetched...well I think so anyway...any comments? _________________ Doubt whom you will, But never yourself.

Just read through it ... I always enjoy Charlie's words of wisdom. Seems pretty similar to an article on that site Paul has posted previously, but in Q&A form (or is it the same one?).
I have no reason to believe the 80% estimate is high... All the hush-hush stuff I've heard indicates it's pretty darn reasonable. The testers obviously know it -- they just won't acknowledge. Certainly they would have read the Dubin report over and over, and they think Charlie's knowledge and information is dangerous enough to keep him at arm's length from the sport, so presumably they put stock in his estimates.

A lot of interesting stuff ...
First it seems that designer steroids are a common thing ... Is that right Paul ??? If so, BALCO was no revelation, but merely a bump in the road for those who are using ... And really a bump only for a handful of individuals ...
And looks like one need not have their own pharmacist ... Looks like these things are easiely and readily available ... And that the cost is NOT prohibitive ....
As for Charlie ... Looks like he is very well versed in what is going on in the drug field, the weight training field, and the track and field scene ... Which leads me to belive that while he may have gone "udnerground" he has never stopped coaching ... And I'm going to guess that he has worked with some high profile athletes ... I have nothing to prove it, but why else would this man have stayed so involved in what is going on .... He sounds more knowledeable today than you "average" coach !!!
As for usage in the sport ... I don't know what percentage I would put it at ... But again I am going to go out on a limb and say that I would bet it is better than 50% ... Easily so ... And I am also going to say that I cast doubt on most records set in the sport over the last two decades - all of them ... _________________ Conway

Just look at where he held clinics regularly... NC was a common location prior to his involvement with Marion and Tim ever coming to light.

Just shows how sophisticated the whole drug thing has become ... My assumption is that it is big business and that many many are involved ... _________________ Conway

Posted to the t-and-f list:
Quote: | During a hearing on doping in Germany, Prof. Werner Franke revealed new names of Balco customers. He cited from an interrogation document of September 3, 2003, and revealed the names of Zhanna Pintusevich-Block, her husband and manager Mark Block, intermediate hurdler Eric Thomas and the notorious Charlie Francis. In the focus are now also Andrew Tynes, boyfriend of Chandra Sturrup, who is blamed to have delivered Andrianol, a steriod, for Trevor Graham, who had disclosed the wheelings and dealings of Balco.
(According to a report of Sueddeutsche Zeitung) |
Nothing particularly surprising there, but it confirms, or at least supports, a lot of suspicions.

Not surprising at all ... Kinda funny that everyone that has been suspected has come out in this overe time ... Almost confirms the "walk like a duck, sounds like a duck" theory in general ... _________________ Conway

And Charlie Francis is looking more prophetic by the day, with his comments about the irony of the situation being you have to be doping to be good enough to be in a position to complain about the others.
