I ran races some years ago (from I was 13th to 16th) road races, cross , now I run only for my pleasure.
I like so much speed but I like also races longer it depends on who is running, beautiful also HJ PV TJ LJ.
My favourite athlete is Merlene Ottey.
And about you? (Micah and Conway) _________________ “But the most important thing is that you're having fun. It's not about the results or being number one in the world, it's about feeling satisfied and enjoying it.” Carolina Kluft |

I have raced everything from the mile to the half marathon over the course of the last 27 years. I like to run 5K and 10K races mostly. Right now I am recovering from a torn calf muscle and hope to be racing again before the end of the year. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Well, once upon a time I was a sprinter ... But also ran cross country in the off season to increase my endurance and have run 10K a couple times just to see if I could finish ... LOL ... Has been a while since I have competed, but at the urging of this group have been working on getting back in shape ... Havev been doing a lot of biking (quietly) and losing weight (quietly) and once the summer heat is done I think I'll be ready to actually mix in running with the biking (as in good hard running) ... Then we will see from there ... _________________ Conway

Yeah ... Has been easier to just do it without talking about it ... When you talk about it seems easeir to let little things get in the way ... Andn seems easier to let the pain stop you ... At least for me ... When I'm talking about it I also have the opportunity to talk myself out of it ... So I just do it ...
Feeling pretty good though ... My biking is in the 10-15 mile range (hard riding) ... When I was good on the track it was in the 20-30 mile range ... So I'm getting close ... Figure by Fall I'll be ready for strong running ... So perhaps I'll be on schedule for winter competition ... But this is the last I talk about it til then ... _________________ Conway

I would also like to welcome Yukon, and all the other new people here this year that are posting their results: BigFE1965, PeterJ, runningfreak_89, Shaun and LATL. My name is Paul. I am probably the oldest person on this site at 55 yrs. Live in Portland, Ore which puts me possibly the closest to the site originator. In fact, I've had the pleasure of going down and taking in a few runs with Dan. My best races might be in the 5K to 10K range. I have done a half marathon before, and a 12K and 15K. My very first race was in Dec of 2002. My athletics background includes the HJ in T&F, and weightlifting where I had some modest success 20 years ago. I don't post as often as I should, but I enjoy reading about everyone's workouts.

Don't forget about Will, although we haven't heard from him for a few months.

Modest? Paul's selling himself a bit short... Try National Class and good enough to have appeared on ABC's Wide World of Sports!
