What I heard (take with a grain of salt) is that Rupp will enroll at take classes at Portland State, but train professionally with Salazar in hopes of making the Trials.
I think McGrath's best days are behind him. I saw him at the State Meet last year, and I just couldn't picture him ever running 1:45 or so. Hope he proves me wrong though. It great to see all these Oregon guys running so well. _________________ November 9th... |

I believe Will and Graeme are correct. There was mention that we should go after him for a similar arrangement to what he's allegedly planning on at PSU, but one that would allow him a selective collegiate racing experience, but that's pretty far fetched. I don't think that would work particularly well with the professional running he's got planned, even in a non-scholarship situation.

That first year is a tough adjustment period for many and it's still early relative to what they're likely peaking for... Based on his appearance, I wouldn't be surprised if they're training him more for the longer stuff, in which case he might have too many miles under the belt to blast a fast half.
