Impressive. It wasn't too long ago that you could have broken that workout up into 3 individual ones (800's, 200's, and miles) and been very happy with all three!

I'll be taking the next two weeks off from this madness as one of the women wants to take two weeks off from training after her 10K this Sunday. I'm really starting to feel it. I would like to taper in Nov for the final XC meets. By the way, last week's meet had Dave Davis in it. He was 4th!! Kezes, from Eugene, won it. _________________ Paul

Davis was only 4th??? I guess I haven't heard much from him this year -- don't know what kind of shape he's in -- but 3 people beating him on a XC course is nearly unheard of.

Either of you going to Eugene this weekend? I saw the LO girls made it, and was pretty surprised the LO boys didn't (and there wasn't even one individual qualifier). _________________ November 9th... |

I probably won't be making it down. No real surprise the girls made it and the boys didn't. I think the boys team is pretty young, though.

I'm afraid I'm going to miss it also. I work tonight. I can't believe that I've missed this the last 2 years with Rupp running.
Did 15 miles today up Springwater Corridor. Just under 9 mpm pace. This is the longest run I have ever done. Darn close to 50 miles for the week. Completely uncharted territory for me.
Dry, cold, windy up here. _________________ Paul

15/50?! I just hope you fare with that level better than I did the last time around... You've been building up to it really well, though. I got back up to 24 miles the past 4 days, but I took today off due to a fair amount of fatigue yesterday.
I hear you might be getting some snow up there Sunday! Predicted low of 20 degrees here tonight. Brr.

That's an impressive long run. Are you giving any thoughts to a marathon in the future? _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

I think I remember reading that article. I always cringe with RW interviews when the questions invariable start angling toward marathons. Not much subtlety there.

Cross Country yesterday. Johnson Farm. There wasn't a level section on the whole course! We did 2 loops for a 3.7 mile course. Covered it in 28:22. I am getting better at maintaining the intensity during the middle of the race, but that is easier when you have someone to chase. It was quite cold, but since a lot of it was run in the forest, there was no wind. A lot of people were shedding hats and gloves after the first loop.
The results are finally in on the Run Like Hell 5K. My 20:12 was legit. Ninth overall, first in the 50-54 age bracket. _________________ Paul

Here's a couple of pictures for those interested:

The first pic is me. This is from two Sunday's ago. This is my 2nd race of the day following the early morning 5K. This day also was the start of my 50 mile week. Dan, that is a Team Red Lizard t-shirt I am wearing with a big white lizard logo on the back.
The 2nd pic is Julie. Recent times for her include a 66 minute 10 mile at Oktoberfest and a sub 1:30 half in Victoria B.C. If you think Julie's tank top says "Dairy Kills" you would be correct. That is the name of their team!
The 3rd pic is Susan, the individual I run the most with. She's the one who hails from Georgia and attended Perry. In her prime she was a 19:00 5K XC runner. Perry had quite a team her last year. The person on the left cheering her on is Cheryl, a perennial winner in the 50-54 class. Notice the tie-dyed t-shirts. They run for the Psycho-Delic Chicks, PD Chicks for short. Hey, what can I say!! And they usually win, beating the Bowerman A.C. girls.

Keep this up and you might be ready to tackle the old LOHS course before long!

I was mounting my 300m sprint on the slightly uphill gravel road to the finish.
You responded to my post while I was doing some editing. I filled in some info on the pictures, but first I wanted to see if they would load correctly from the URL's. _________________ Paul
