I visited the daughter yesterday and she insisted on taking me on the "Madison Run". It is a training run she used to do when she was on the team at James Madison U. The course is a dirt fire service road that goes steadily up hill for 5 miles...then you turn around and run back down.
I planned on doing a ratio of 8 minutes running and 2 minutes walking but that only lasted for 30 minutes After that it dropped to 7/3 then 6/4 then 5/5 to the top. I was beat
We rested a couple of minutes at the top before coming back down at a fairly fast pace. We also walked about 5 minutes total on the way down to ease the pounding on the legs. But we couldn't walk too much because the sun was setting and we wanted to finish before dark.
It took us 68 minutes to the top and 54 to come back down including the walk breaks and stopping to empty rocks from our shoes.
The legs feel suprisingly good today and there is no pain in the foot. Ain't life grand? _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Ooh, that brings back memories of some of our runs in Corvallis... We had one that I think took like 1:20 up and <40 minutes down. I remember feeling a bit odd looking down at clouds while careening out of control...
Although, I might be getting the times of that run confused with a bike ride on the same route.
Glad to hear the foot's holding up well.
