I've got higher resolution versions of some of the Run-Down graphics I could send you. The ones currently on the site probably won't look very good printed...

I like that art work but if you do tshirts for Run-Down they should have the graphic of your stick man on it. That way we could make it an internationally recognized symbol.
Oh yeah, and you should start with singlets so we can show it off at races. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Definitely!

I've been asked quite a few times over the last 4.5 years if so and so can use the Run-Down stick runner on their running web site. I've politely declined, of course. Don't want to dilute the identity.

Good feedback, thanks. Couple of questions:
1) What would you consider a reasonable price for a custom thing of this sort? The price would obviously go down the more people we got doing this, but there's usually a base printing fee that makes things a bit prohibitive for small batches.
2) Materials preferences? Is cotton ok, or do folks want to go all out with Coolmax, DriFit, or something similar?
3) If a sponser were interested in chipping in to help cover costs, would you mind having some other logos in the design, or would you rather it "pure"?
Of course, for just a few people I could mail them out myself, but for any larger batches, that could become a large task...

Ranger, if you want some higher res versions to play with, here's a couple I put together eons ago for possible cafepress.com usage:
http://www.run-down.com/shirt_front.gif
http://www.run-down.com/shirt_back.gif
I have a better quality hi res version of the stick runner in Paint Shop Pro format, so it would be good to replace Mr. stick man in those two graphics for improved clarity...

Micah, I see we have got Dan on board with this And we did not have to hold him down and twist his arm either....trust me Dan...ya got off easy
And they say the big deals are made on the golf course....I beg to disagree, it seems that they are also made over dinner too
I think advertising would be a great idea (on the back) to keep the cost down, and I like the coolmax idea. If your gona go public, then do it first class!
I'm not sure what a fair price is, but I know that I pay upwards of $25.00 for a shirt at the running shop, so at least another $10.00 - $15.00 would not be a problem with me.
It would not be for daily runs. I would trot it out for the races so I could look at the CR/CH crowd and go
Too bad I can't pull anything together for this weekend in Maine (B2B).
Well....back to work

I would opt for one of the technical fibers over cotton.
Looks like Micah and RangerG will be teaching a class next year at Quantico.
This is the first time I've seen the foot plant described from a walking, jogging, and moderate running vantage point. This could turn out to be a crucial issue in the future of footwear.
Graeme, I use the NB 831's for my track workouts. I don't excessively wear out either side and I have, what would be traditionally considered, an average arch, so I am assuming I run with a neutral foot strike.
It is fascinating to see how your specific line of shoes have changed over the course of years. I have been using the NB 82x's and 83x's for something like 7-8 years, now. The 826's added a stability web. I must have bought 6 pairs of the shoe after that, the 827's, still one of my favorites. I just broke open my last pair in reserve, last week. That shoe was quite light in weight (10.3 oz, M9 1/2) , cushioned well, and just stable enough to run well groomed trails. The sole lasted forever. You had to throw out the shoes when you finally realized the cushioning was shot. By the time they got to the 829's, they (New Balance) had completely redesigned the shoe. The cushioning was as good as ever, but it didn't have the stability of the 827's, and you were lucky to get 300 miles on the sole. The 830's were exactly the same, with a slightly different cosmetic look, but some people claimed they were slightly shorter. They were right!! But since I was buying shoes at a full size over my street shoe size, that wasn't a big issue. The 831's went to just cushioning with a lighter design, still retained the stability web, and is the shoe that Graeme described. The 832's are due out in a few months. I use the 831's strictly for fast paced work and races. I still have two new pairs of 829's, 830's, and one pair of 831's new in the box.

Professors Ward and G? Where do we enroll?!
I'm sure other companies do the same, but Nike has been studying the foot plant motion during various activities for years now.

Remember the Mizunos that started this thread?
Had to take them back yesterday and trade them in. I liked the way they felt but that one seam kept rubbing a blister in the right arch. The store people took them back with no questions asked and I got a pair of adidas Supernova Cushion. Those are what I had been running in before so I guess I will stick with them for a while and stop experimenting. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Good choice. If you find something that works it's a good idea to stick with it. |

Looks like NB bypassed model 832 and went right to the 833, which is now out. NB says they have restructured the EVA. The sole looks the same as the 831. New cosmetics, also. |

Now that Nike owns Converse, the brand may once again become high tech...

They were the original basketball shoe, but they've been largely known for skating the past 15-20 years. They were still the big dog in hoops until the mid-80's, at which point Nike took over on the strength of Air Jordan. The old Converse commercials with the likes of Bird, Isaiah, Magic, and a few others (Worthy?) were classics!
I'm not sure what Nike's plans are with the brand, but they've branched out into a lot of other areas (golf clubs, hockey equipment, soccer balls, dress clothes, etc.) in recent years, so they may not change the direction at all.
