I've thought off and on (let me finish that statement!) from time to time of adding a running clipart/postcard section to Run-Down, but nothing's ever come of it. An idea I just had might be of more interest to the group, however. What would people think of an e-card setup where people could contribute photos to it? That would make it unique and would involve everyone directly. Where else can you send a running e-card with a picture you took yourself???

Anything used would of course have to be non-copyrighted work, meaning a picture you took yourself. Cool ideas might include long winding trails with runners off in the distance, people standing around after a run covered in mud, people whirlpooling post-workout, someone in the starting blocks, etc. You could even provide captions.

I've worked with a postcard script that will integrate nicely within the site, so that shouldn't be a problem. My hope is this would be a fun thing for everyone and could also be a good way to attract new people to the site and forum.

Or will that have to be recreated in the studio?

I don't have that one although I do have a couple of pictures of coachd tearing into the team at our home meet my junior year. We won the meet, but for some reason coach didn't think the team gave a good enough effort or something so he tore into us. I have a couple of pictures of the whole team circled up with coachd standing in the middle with one hand raised in the air. If it had been in the locker room you'd probably be able to see paint peeling off the walls. I also have a couple of good ones of Hammer from some of our road trips both University sponsored and otherwise. Of coarse I think both he and coachd have some of me that I'm not so sure I'd want on the net Wink

Those sound like they have potential. I guess I should say to use discretion if people other than yourself are identifiably pictured and you have not explicitly been given permission by them to share the photo...

Anyone who has such photos (or running artwork of any sort, really) that they'd be interested in sharing, you can send them to me via email. Just make sure to mention something about running postcard photos in the subject so I don't automatically delete it as some sort of spam or virus attachment...
