Rambling Runners,
My name is Brian Wetter. I work for a small company in Bend Oregon called
TrekAnalyst.com(http://www.trekanalyst.com). Over the past two years we
have been developing a training tool that is tailored to multi-sport
athletes for tracking, analyzing and mapping workout data that is gathered
from a commercially available GPS. We are still in the testing phase and
are not completely finished so our entire site is currently completely free
of charge. I have been using TrekAnalyst in my daily training for the past
year and the data has become invaluable in my training. I just got tired of
never knowing how far or how fast I went on my daily training runs. Now I
can organize my weeks of runs in folders so I can simply click on the folder
and find out how many miles I ran during a specific week or for the entire
year.
The best place to start would be to go to the site TrekAnalyst.com and click
on the "My Treks" tab. Since you have not registered and logged on you will
have access to some example "treks" we have created for people to check out
before they register. Registering will allow you to upload and store your
own "treks".
Please let me know if you have any ideas on how we can improve our site.
We are currently developing a community section that should be finished in
the next few weeks that is going to be very exciting. It will allow users
from around the world to share their local "treks" with other users. It
will be very much like a
guide book full of trail data but it will be free.
Happy Running,
Brian

Hi Brian,
I can put you in touch with someone here in Salem who was thinking about putting together GPS-based running routes. It sounds like the two of you could either help each other out or at least bounce ideas off each other. Let me know if you'd like the name.
