Shat freely? I hate to ask what that is the plural of...
Lots of superb performances highlighted there. It's scary to think that the HS girls 400 squad was stronger the past year than their professional counterparts! Either the pros will significantly step up or we'll see a major changing of the guard in about 2 years. That is, assuming they aren't prep sensation burnouts...

Well now that would be ther plural of chat ... I thought you would know that ... ...
The women's 400 is very interesting ... HS girls rarely seem to do as well once they get to college ... Then get better afterwards ... my favorites were the Howard sisters - primarily Sherri and Denean who were outstanding in HS, so so in college ... Then became sub 50 sprinters (Sherri running several sub 49 relay legs) ...
I found the exerpt from the Tim Montgomery interview interesting ... His speaking of how hard he ran and what he did to his feet, etc, etc was almost nauseating ... He had no idea what he had done when the race was over .. Was just another race to him ... Seems like a legend in his onw mind !!! Just makes him vulnerable to others ... _________________ Conway

I'm still irritated that TM made the cover over Paula!!
Andra Manson had a tremendous string of jumps this year, culminating at 7'7". But he flunked his SAT's, hopes to enroll at Texas in a couple of months. I don't know how committed he is to the event. My hunch is that Kenneth Ferguson will be the the individual to focus on over the next 2 years.
On a local note, Oregon HS XC was phenomenal this year. There is a chance we may qualify 4 people from this state in the Regionals to go on to the Foot Locker Nationals.

Now Paul that was a make up cover ... Tim didn't get the ocver when he actuallly broke the record .. Go figure ...
I think a lot of kids now have dificulty making it into schools because of bad grades and/or poor SAT's .... I think that is why even though there is so msuch quality in high school these days, little of it gets translated to colleges and/or the pros !!!
On another note, did anyone find Tim and Marion's relationship almost too buddy buddy ??? _________________ Conway

What I thought was interesting was the hint that KK or Radcliffe might be AOY. I'm not sure about KK but I have no problem supporting Radcliffe for the award...and that's no shat. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |
