Do any other women suffer the same problem, what causes it and what can I do about it.
I empty my bladder before a run and can do pelvic floor muscle excercises whilst not running but this is impossible to do whilst running. This is a very embarrassing situation, not whilst training alone but during a race I would have to stop to control it. Its stopping me running with others. HELP |

Unfortunately, it seems that we have very few women posting to our discussions. I can't recall reading anything in the running literature about the leaky bladder problem but I would suggest trying to find a doctor who is experienced in treating athletes in general and runners in particular. You could check with a local running club or university running coach for referals. Good luck, and since I have a running daughter, I would be interested to hear of any solutions you find to your problem.

Thanks for your replys. I guess I'll have to put it down to my age (44) as usual and just keep on running.

perhaps checking with your dr. or an uroligist?..could be something other than age.. and i believe there is an operation.. very minor.. that can be done.
they seem to be able to do almost anything these days... i just read about botox being used to stop ppl from sweating!
good luck... i would be interested in knowing how you are doing also. |
