Hello this is my first time here, and i also my first marathon. I have been running forever but never the big one, so i decided to and now i have a few questions.
I have come a custom to running with a walkman, is this allowed in the race? Also if not does anyone have any suggestions on breaking this habit?

I don't know of any races that disallow running with a walkman, but you could check for sure by contacting the race organizers.

Most types of competition that I am aware of (primarily tracak but some others) are very specific about "uniforms" ... And typicallly anything that is not considered part of othe standard uniform, or that is not worn by all members of the team, is disallowed ...
I would think that a walkman would fit this criteria ... So I don't think it would be allowed ... But you coaches should know better than me ...

I don't think road races tend to have any such uniform uniformity (whoa) rules...

I've seen many people running road races with walkman's. I would of coarse check with the race director, but it is usually allowed. _________________ Time is the fire in which we burn |
