I am a 16 year old male. I have been running track since I was 5-mostly 100 and 200. In middle school I started doing the 400. Last year, in my first HS season first race I ran a 54. My season best was 51. This year, I can't get below 54 in my first 4 meets. I have gained about 20 pounds and grown 3 inches. I am 6'1 and 178 lbs. I play football and I am a wrestler. I have a conditioning class everyday. Some people say I am slower because I am too muscled now. Otherssay I am not warming up properly. How should I warm up for a 400? Could building musle for FB and wrestling hurt my 4oo speed?

Sounds like you have a lot of potential in the 400. Your weight sounds appropriate for your height. It might just be a matter of getting accustomed to the extra bulk, or it might be that you need to pay more attention to flexibility having added that much more muscle. What is your stretching routine like? If the added weight is mostly upper body (common with footballers), then you need to also improve leg strength to carry that weight.
