I'm having trouble with the inside of my knee. It feels like the tendons are rubbing or are not moving smoothly. I've had a history of hamstring trouble and I'm only 17 years old. I think it's tendonitis. Is there any way that I can get rid of this without resting or taking time off. I've been icing but I don't know what else to do. I would really appreciate any help that anybody could give me. Thanks.

I think thorough stretching and a balanced strengthening routine would be best. I'm not in favor of icing for such things (after many years of first hand experience) -- it may reduce some inflammation, but I believe it simply tightens up the muscles and tendons and leads toward more problems. Plus, the icing is a very temporary fix, but can lead to a very lasting problem...

I'm looking into getting custom made orthotics and was wondering what your opinion of them is. Are they worth the investment? Do you think they will stop my tendonits from coming back? If anybody has used these, please give a response. Thanks.

If you need them, then they're unquestionably worth it. The only one that can tell you if you need them, however, is a podiatrist (preferably a good one who's familiar with sports medicine). I could barely walk before getting mine due to a year-long foot injury, and within a week or two the pain was completely gone.
