I a beginner runner who has been running every day for about 6 weeks. I've finally progressed to a distance of 3 miles. Everythings been going great until yesterday. I was running pretty well for about a mile and I just "hit the wall". I felt totally exhausted and coundn't run any more. Is this pretty common to have a setback like this? |

Depends a lot on how you've been training. If you're doing the same thing every day, it's pretty common to suddenly feel very flat. It's always wise to vary your workouts, both day to day and even in cycles as short as three weeks. This keeps the body from getting into a rut and plateauing (sp?).
Also, if I got too concerned after one bad run, I would have given up years ago! I rarely get through a good week of running without at least one day that feels like a survival test. Chalk those up to recovery days... |

I think hitting the "wall" happens to everyone. Try thinking of somerthing else while running and instead of walking jog slowly. It'll help you get back in the swing of things. |
