Hey: for the 1. time, Mr. Webb is a favorite to win a medal during the World Championships and Olympics, even if every other athlete will run their best. He established a great personal best; and I did visit www.usatf.org . . . nothing! If a Polish athlete as little as participates in the Golden League meet, the Polish Track and Field Federation (www.pzla.pl) reports it within 2 hours.
There is a reason why Track and Field in the USA is not as popular as in Europe, or Poland, with respect to the fan base.
It is sad to say that in the USA people remember about Track and Field only as an opportunity to wave the flag, and not to enjoy the events. The true Track and Field fans base is narrow.
It is even sadder that the USA Track and Field is part of the problem, and not part of the solution. I used to be a member of the USATF between before 2001 and 2004 or 2005, but I stopped paying member dues because the organization as the above example illustrates is useless. _________________ http://vincovitanj.tripod.com/Do_not_be_a_victim1/index.htmlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u43o595CARQ

I haven't watched the video, but judging from the splits, it looks like he took it out aggressive and kept pressing the whole way.

For anyone who hasn't seen it...
Actually I think it was the second lap was almost like a gathering lap a gap developed between the first and second pacer - the second pacer basically wound Webb up coming off the turn on the penultimate lap leaving alan to blast the last lap which he did - it was a very impressive performance. _________________ The long run is what puts the tiger in the cat. |
