well, I don't run nude, would be too embarassing
But something else concerns me. I have my annual sprint thriatlon (500 m swimming, 20 km cycling, 5 km running). Although I can't really swim, can't really cycle (some people would add: he can't even run), I really enjoy this exercise!
To get more practice I extended the overall training: cycle to my office as often as possible (40 km return trip).
cancel my lunch as often as possible and go swimming instead.
Sounds great but in the eveinings I am so knocked over that I find only the time for 3 runs in the week: 1 slow run, 1 technical training, 1 interval training, and I really feel bad during these sessions.
The overall feeling is pretty good, but my concern: is 3 times running enough, or am I damaging my running capabilties?
Peter
PS: is it possible to reduce weight with extended training? Answer: NO it isn't. I had weeks where I even gained weight, it's so frustrating. |

The tri/duathlon athletes I've known tend to place the heaviest emphasis on biking and swimming, as they're the more technical events and the same basic conditioning carries over to running. Of course, the run tends to be where leads are built and lost...

I've heard of some Triathalon programs where they have you run, bike, and swim just 2 days each for each week. I'm not sure if they are easier or harder than how hard you want to train, but apparently you don't have to run much. _________________ My Athlinks profile - some road races I've done and stuff |

That sounds pretty light. I've known triathletes to train 5-8 hours a day, covering all the bases day in and day out.
