Hi guys, i have a question, my girlfriend has just got a exercise bike and i was wondering if doing some workouts on it would be beneficial to my running? any suggestions

Can't hurt as supplementary work, but it's unlikely it'll help directly.

Like Dan said it will supplement, especially your aerobic fitness. It may also add some strength to your quads. But the bottom line is that exercise is very specific and the best way to improve as a runner is to run.

Cheers for the replies guys, i might add a few cycling sessions to my training then in the coming weeks and see how it goes for me. I had a go on it the other day and did 5k in 12:26 pretty slow in cycling terms but i wish i could run that fast Smile
