Hi,
When I run and get about 3 miles out my left foot falls asleep. This has been happening for the past month. I have been running for about 10 years. I did try tightening the shoe laces and tying them very lose but this had no effect. Any ideas about what to try next?

Hi Gary,
My first suggestion would have been to try loosening the shoe laces... Since you've already tried that, the only two other things that come to mind are: 1) trying on different shoes (have you gone to a new pair in the past month?) to see if there's some aggravation, and 2) pay attention to how you are running. Some times you can tense up your foot during the gait -- especially if you are concentrating too much on form -- and cause numbness during the run.

Thanks for the suggestion. I changed to another pair of running shoes and did not have the problem. Must be time for new shoes.

That's certainly good news.
Best of luck with continued problem-free running.
