Marion may follow into the footsteps of Cathy Freeman, she seems to be neither interested in performing at the highest level, nor her retirement found. Except, that after giving birth to a baby, she seems to care more for the retirement found. I do not blame her for requesting just pay for her presence in the meets. It does not make her, nor the meet organizers greedy. It simply means that they did not agree. Marion was not willing to offer her services as an athlete or entertainer for the amount of money that was offered, and the meet organizers did not want to pay her the amount that she requested because they believed that the amount of money that she requested was unjustified by the amount of money that they would earn because of her participation.
Well -- Recently, Marion refused to participate in a meet because she was O.K. with the pay that the meet organizers offered her for running, but she was not O.K. with the amount of money that was offered to her for her participation in the broad jump in the very same meet.

That's the world of track and field that we now live in ... Money ... Marion should be thankful that she is still marketable .. But it seems that the "elite" want to push the envelope as wide as they can ... So far however, Marion is just another athlete out there performance wise ... So we'll see how the season progresses ...
