There was a report that Allen Iverson ran a 4:42 mile. I think that is a decent time for a professional athelte but not worth a jaw dropping.
I was curious to know if any NBA players ran track in high school or college and if they were any good.
Anyone know? Can you point me towards a website?
How about other celebrities? |

Rasheed Wallace was a high jumper, but that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Someone like Iverson could be a very good quarter miler -- probably national class -- so a mile of that sort was either early in his athletic days or a very moderate effort.

I think a 400 or 800 would be a better event for him.
Supposedly it was done in a workout right before he turned pro.
I heard many college basketball teams run a mile sometime during the season. I would be curious to see the times of some of the point guards.
I heard a rumor that John Stockton ran high school track in Washington. You hear anything about that? |

Haven't heard anything about Stockton with regards to track. Two of the colleges I've been associated with, the basketball teams placed heavy emphasis on 400m and 1 mile conditioning tests. I would guess that's pretty common.
