Deena Drossin dominated again in the 8K, that is her 6th title. Looks like we could have a strong team going to Switzerland for the worlds.
Note of interest, Meghan McGlaughlin in 15th was a high school team mate of the daughter. Ran for Radford U. in Virginia.
The men have the 12K champs race today. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Drossin needs some domestic competition...
Here's the meet site:
http://www.usatf.org/events/2003/USAXCChampionships/
I see Bobby Curtis managed a modest 16th place on what looks to be a crazy slow course. He apparently lost ground on his regular peers. I didn't think that high mileage experiment would pay off in the short term...
Libbie Hickman ran the women's short course. When's the last time she ran XC?
And how 'bout Ed Torres pulling off 3rd place in the men's long course?! That would have to be the surprise of the meet. Big win by Culpepper, finally getting past Meb and Abdi. I assume Michael Mann in 49th place is not the director of such movies as Ali...

Yes the course was slow. There are some pictures at www.fast-women.com and it looks pretty brutal.
Good race for Culpepper and I am surprised that Hickman ran the 4K instead of the 8K. I would think she is much better the longer the distance.
If you notice, Michael Mann ran for the Air Force and beat Steven King who ran for a Houston track club. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Ahhh there you go mentioning "high school memories", get me all excited for when I transfer out of my school to a school that actually has running programs. Cross country was so much fun when it rained... |

First husband/wife winning combo, if I'm not mistaken.

a lot of runners from the boulder group qualified and there were some other good performances in the jr races
boulder seems to be the place where the distance runners are coming from |
