Allright- I had this pair of nike running shoes- they were real light and had this mesh towards the toe. They were bright yellow with the red nike check- they had bright yellow laces as well. does anyone know what they are called or where I can find them? I ran my pair into the ground and i want another!

These shoes probabaly arent made in very large numbers. They had a thick sole towards the real, with really thin material and mesh in the front. Birght yellow or chartrouse. So light.

Well, without knowing the name, it's impossible to determine if and where they can be found, which is why I asked the as of yet unanswered question above...

I used to wear Nikes but that name is not familiar. You might want to go to www.nike.com and look at the pictures they have psoted of their shoes. Of course, there is always the chance that it is a discontinued style. All the shoe companies tend to change styles way too often.

I want to say that they might be an old version of the Ghost Racer. But that is about all I can come up with and it's little more than a guess to go with the picture in my head. Neutral

The Talaria was discontinued after a season and a half because of air packet construction. The rubber outsole had no midsole between it and the air sole, so-as I found out four times-they were very prone to "blowing" out about 2 weeks after purchase. They discontinued them in '97. I happened, however, to have stumbled across a pair an old friend of mine had and never used. When he gave them to me, I remembered how much I liked them. Great shoes. I use them now, but, another thing I remembered having problems with has come up: the heel counter material that lines the inside of the shoe comes loose and rides up the heel. Too bad. I enjoyed those shoes!

I bought my pair in December '97 and have only worn them about 3 times, including my 5k "race" this summer. I haven't had or heard of any of the problems you mentioned, but I obviously haven't put much wear on them, either (I was injured most of the intervening time). I can't think of a sweeter shoe. Thumbs Up

I was pretty consistently doing 15-18 a day in them, so, they were not as likely to last as yours are. At any rate, if you stay on soft surfaces, they'll go a while. I did figure that out.

15-18 miles a day in those shoes??? Man, you must have lower legs built like a sherman tank. They'd be great for a long road race such as a marathon, but I would think they'd be a pretty big stressor for most people with a daily load such as that.

I've run anywhere from 60-140 a week and the only injury I've ever had was a ruptured disk caused by lifting weights improperly during a summer base phase of 80 miles a week. So, I've been pretty blessed in that area. If only I could get some good lungs!
