Take it slow. Last year I had a runner who had a stress fracture in his foot and even three months after he was still feeling pain after he ran. He continued to progress slowly and steadily and he came out alright. So keep running as your doctor perscribes and take it slow. I know it can be frustrating when you have a long come back but that's better than being reinjuried. The only way I would recommend stoping running is if the pain starts to get worse as opposed to staying the same or getting better. But most importantly, keep your doctor informed and listen to him/her generally on stress fractures they will bring you along slowly and safely.

I have had two tibial stress fractures and three metatarsal stress fractures. I have learned three rules from these experiences:

1. Go slow.
2. Go slow.
3. Go slow.

You will experience some pain as you recover. Take it slow in the recovery and err to the side of caution. You just can't rush the recovery from these things. The reason I have had so many is because I did try to rush it. Good luck.
