Which I believe makes us the 2nd fastest family duo in the race.

Outstanding. You never mentioned that your father ran too. Or I missed it. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

I probably never mentioned it... He ran in the Alumni Run for the first time 2 years ago, but not last year's. He ran the Portland Marathon once way back when (mid 80's, I think) and was my original motivation for getting into running. I remember being super proud the first time I managed to complete a 2 mile run with him as a little kid.

I can speak from experience when I say that he was even more proud than you on that day. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Can't say I remember, but you may well be right. The only part I recall is that he was quite surprised when I wanted so badly to give it a try.

Just heard from coach and this year's Alumni Run is 8/31, which is the week I plan to be up in Canada.

I plan on being there again. I don't know how fast I'll run. Last year, this was a breakthrough race for me. My left foot has been bothering me some, so I haven't been doing much on XC type terrain. In fact, I am thinking of passing on the whole XC series this year. My next big race should be Oktoberfest mid-September. 10K _________________ Paul

Left foot, huh? Sounds like my last 2 months.
I'm heading up to Canada on Thursday, so it'll be up to Paul to represent us all proudly this year!

Nice day, great turnout. Course was a bit different than last year, no running around the front of the school this time. Running through the park area was about the same. Barkdust was very soft because of the wet weather, gravel areas were in good shape. I ran 21:58 for 13th. Almost a 30 sec improvement over last year. Dave, who runs Hood To Coast, said he thought the course was close to 400m long based on his time and some of the other runners, including the winner. But I wasn't buying that. That would have put me well under 20:30 and I simply wasn't moving that fast. By the way, I better update my training log or I'm going to drop off to the 2nd page!! _________________ Paul

Nicely done. You can always count on a Lider course to change from race to race and never be exactly what one would consider accurate...
Left foot hold up ok?

I second that. 30 seconds is a good improvement. |

Dan, I never got back on the foot issue. Both feet are doing well. I'm even getting some toe running in on the gym treadmill. _________________ Paul

I bet a soft-surfaced Bush Park run is in your near future. Just think, you could run on your toes and still have your heels touch the ground...
