The startlist will definitely change right now several countries are holding their Championships and athletes are focused on making the World Team. Within the next two weeks the list should change A FEW TIMES with many big names being added to the startlist roster. |

Is that why there's such a big gap in the GL schedule?

Yes, most of the European countries are holding their Championship during that time frame. While the U.S. and most Africans have already held their Championships still cant hold Golden League meets with just two continents-or-maybe you could (LOL). What you think? |

Makes sense. There could still be GP meets, but not worth it if half the countries don't attend.

___This does make sense in the countries, unlike this one, where the pool of athletes is shallow. In the United States, where, if not for the IAAF limit of three athletes, at least in the dashes, we could send seven or eight athletes; it does not make a difference.
___Poland, next year, will stage her championships in such a way that the last day of the championships will be the last day to get the minima for the European (or world or Olympic) championships.
___Moreover, as of present, the European U-23 Championships are being held, and soon, the European Junior Championships will be held in the capitol of Lithuania, the City of Vilnius.
I expressed my view on the Euro 23 and Marta Stewart in another thread, in the off topic area of these fora: Open Mic Night.

What would happen, if IAAF allowed one athlete to compete outside the national constraints?
It would have to be somebody whom everyone wants to see and who made a lot of money for the IAAF.
This means that it would have to be an athlete who is willing to partcipate in the world championships, has participated in all meetings of the Golden League and Super Grand Prix before the championships, and who ranks the highest in the combined IAAF ranking tables and the annual performance lists for the specific event.
The standard could be called: Number One. _________________ http://vincovitanj.tripod.com/Do_not_be_a_victim1/index.htmlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u43o595CARQ

They've got updated start lists as of 7/22, and it's looking extremely bad for my roster.
Men:
800m: Mulaudzi, Reed, Mutua
Mile: Webb
5k: Wanjiru (out as of 7/29...)
Women:
100m: L. Williams, Colander
800m: Sinclair
I'll be lucky to stay in the top 20 with that lineup...

Looks like the timing with Worlds bit them in butt, even though it's GL. They've ended up with maybe a GPII meet, which is unfortunate.
I just heard from someone who's got the webcast, and he said it's shockingly good. Apparently, it's the Major League Baseball people behind it.

Results are in.
http://run-down.com/fantasy/index.php?go=full_results
Unbelievable, I didn't slip at all despite having only 6 athletes compete and 1 of them not score. I even picked up a couple more points on Conway.
How the heck did Chris Butler manage a 1400 pt showing in such a small meet???
