Anyone any theories on the effectiveness of cycling and swimminng routines on running fitness?? I've been cycling and swimming a great deal (cycling over an hour a day during the week, then at weekends cycling for about 2hours a day and swimming aswell on each day) over the past couple of months due to injury and slowly (very slowly) easing back into running and was curious to know if anyone else has done this kind of thing and how their running fitness faired after such training.
thanks, any comments welcome! |

Well, it will help your general fitness and slow down the erosion of your running fitness, but I've never known swimming or cycling (with the exception of standing hill sprints) to have any direct benefit on running. Not sure if that exactly answers your question...
