As I have mentioned before...you are the guy running this thing so make it easy on yourself. I realize that all the ideas we come up with are not workable. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

The subject of this thread answers that question.

I kind of like the suggestion of forum participants getting an optional "B" team.

And how would the "optional" team work ??? Would this be a "bensh" that could replace "regulars" when they do better than the regulars or am I off base and headed in the wrong direction ??? _________________ Conway

I would think we would have a certain number of points for selecting our "A" team and then a lesser number to select our "B" team. There would be no swapping from one team to the next because I think it would be too difficult for Dan to work out.
It also presents the interesting possibility of a "B" team actually beating an "A" team.  _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

My thinking was simply a manual override (on my part) allowing two teams per person. No pre-set differences between the "A" and "B" teams, just the option to go two different directions with your roster selections... If your "B" team outscores your "A" team, fire your general manager and accept the accolades!

If you can have two teams can you have the same athlete on both teams? I would think not. I would think the two teams would need to be made up of different personnel. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

The simplest thing from my perspective would be to let anything go on the two rosters, otherwise I have to write in extra checks to ensure uniqueness.

Hmmm ... could be interesting ... also could simply have two teams and use the average of what they score ... Might be interesting ... Load up on field eventers on one team and track people on another and try to ride out the average ... Just a thought ... Sijnce we are talking multiple teams ... Not sure why the thought of two teams came up, but could be interesting ... Of course just as simple to allow only one team and five the "regulars" a point advantage ... Some type of bonus to tack on at the end .... Sort of an incentive to get people to get active on the forum portion of the site ... Agains just a thought ... Might be simpler ... _________________ Conway

That would be simpler, but I think I prefer having everyone start from the same point. The only advantage you get with a second team is your odds of doing well are potentially increased, but you still have to outscore everyone else just the same.
I would think averaging the two teams' points would actually be a deterrant unless you are equally confident in the makeup of both teams...
