A masters-aged athlete can definitely choose to compete in open (senior) competition, but not vice versa.

What about Jr's. I don't know if he was to old but could Webb have moved up and run as a Sr if he was still under 18 or whatever age it was. If he had choosen to ru of coarse. _________________ Time is the fire in which we burn |

Yeah, a junior can move up and run at the senior level. I'm not sure if they can choose both, though. Has anyone ever done that? The only two age restrictions I'm aware of are:
1) You cannot run juniors if you are too old.
2) You cannot run masters if you are too young.
Which would explain why Senior is also commonly known as Open.
I believe Webb was young enough to run juniors but opted not to when he ended his season early. I'm not 100% sure about that, though.

Micah, I leave it in your capable hands to explain the complexities and nuances of single barrel bourbons.
I think the idea of getting together sounds great, even if its a few years down the road. Sounds like the people who frequent this site the most are much younger than me. I'm 53 and have been working at the phone company longer than many of you have been alive!!
Masters used to vary quite a bit from sport to sport. Sub-masters sometimes starts at 35. Swimming masters used to start at 30 or earlier! I don't know if they have standardized this stuff now.

According to the USATF website masters comp begins at 35 for women and 40 for men. So a couple of ya'll have some years to go!
Mint juleps BTW are uniquely southern and have as a main ingredient fine Tennessee or Kentucky sippin' whiskey. |
