OK ... That was too easy ... Where is Justin ?? I think Stacy stands pretty much alone on the women's side .. But no arguments for Zelezny or Bucher ??? Just askin ... |

I didn't follow the javelin close enough to know what happened outside of Edmonton, and I don't quite feel that Bucher was a dominant enough force in the 800 to merit athlete of the year. With Maurice and Stacey, you knew it would take a monumental effort for someone else to unseat them. With Bucher, you wondered if he'd be able to hold off Borzakovskiy or Schumann this week...

Just checking ... Wanted to make sure my sprinting bias didn't skew things ... And with Stacey it was really easy ... But like you I somewhat questioned the performances ... But I feel after looking at things that she is indeed at a comparable level to other event leaders ... |

Yeah, I think we've pretty much done what we can here. I was thinking we should post a summary list of our selections, since few people are going to read through this whole thread to see what are collective genius came up with... We could either post that to a new thread or I could post it as an actual page elsewhere on the site. Since the Statistics section is pretty sparse right now (just Justin's excellent 100m stats), that might be a good addition.

Do you want to take the lead on the compiled list or shall I?

Not a whole lot, really. Mostly just gather the events into a single list -- 100, 200, 400, etc., for men and women -- and maybe add our commentary to explain the selections. That would save me a bit of time, and you know what my doing it would be taking away from right now.
