What about the names of the medal winners?
People like to belong and represent, but after all running, for the major part, is a sport for individuals.
Poles, except for football (soccer: beating Great Britian in OT 5:4 and being defeated by Brasil, as well in OT, 6:5 amongst others just before the outbreak of the World War Two. Soccer was simply too popular!) started to achieve success in team sports only after a reverse--social psychology campaign by the Polish communist government during the late 1960's and 1970's (it was an irony that the Polish teams and individuals achieved greatest success against the Soviet teams; examples: Polish men's volleyball team versus the Soviet team in the Olympic finals during the 1970's and the Polish pole vaulters and high jumpers during the Moscow Olympics'1982 as well as the Polish soccer team in 1982). _________________ http://vincovitanj.tripod.com/Do_not_be_a_victim1/index.htmlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u43o595CARQ
