Hello runners!

I have been trying to find John Parker's Once a Runner (a novel about the hard work and dedication required of a runner and now has become a cult classic for competitive runners of all abilities). Unfortunately, this book is out-of-print and is currently sold for hundreds of dollars online.

I happen to know a friend in the industry who might be able to bring an authorized copy online. Before I contact him, I would like to know how many people are interested in this online access.

If you are interested, could you please fill out the following short survey? It will only take 10-15 seconds of your time.
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=c6CzeCQSlYYtOfiAIpohMg_3d_3d

Thank you very much! I will let this forum know if this online version is happening.

Best regards,
Ketty

Wait a few months and it'll probably be re-printed... It tends to cycle in and out of print regularly. Cost is around $10 when it's available.

Parker I believe actually already said that there will be a reprint in 2008

Several years ago, I attended a birthday party for someone who was a member of my running club (Team Red Lizard). I brought a number of books from my library and gave them out as door prizes. One of them was Once A Runner. Who knew that a book I thought I would replace for $10 goes for $150+. I sure am looking forward to a reprint. There was a link some time ago on the Snails running Club site where the book looked like it had been placed on a scanner and uploaded as a 100 page jpeg file. What was the download size of that, Dan, 87 megs as I recall?? That link is no longer valid, by the way.

Yep, nearly 90 MB.

I sold my copy a few years back when the price soared to $100+. I had heard through semi-inside sources that a reprint was imminent, so I jumped in and sold mine for around $65 before the bottom fell out. (Others had also heard about the reprint, thus the price started dropping.) I keep meaning to stock up during the next cycle...
