Thanks, Micah. I hope your Holiday Season was eventful. 'Bout the only thing I got was a bunch of Taco Bell gift certificates, and an invite by Dan to come down and kill myself in a half marathon Jan 14. I ended up taking him up on that but opted for the 10K instead, running with one of his up and coming Freshman to try to pull her to a sub 8 min mile pace. We did succeed. _________________ Paul

One would think so, but I believe Paul is actually embarrassed to admit it in this case. Something about having run much faster without medalling previously.

Micah,
I ran the 10K race in just under 49 minutes. I was 2nd in my age division, but the winner for the 55-59 group was the top overall Master's, so they threw his name out, and I ended up with the 1st place medal.
It was in the low 20's at the start of the race. I've never raced in that cold of temperature before. Dan had 4 XXXXL parkas on. On the other hand, Dan was out in the cold, standing around for over 2 hours, until all his runners finished.
I was hoping to use this early season race to get my training back on track, but the snow hit hard on Tuesday, so except for one treadmill session, I didn't get back out until Friday, again.
Time to start our 2007 diaries.

Just read your post in Rambling Runners.
As an aside to my story, above, I forgot to bring any kind of stopwatch or sportswatch with me. So much for that memory of mine. _________________ Paul

I was dressed so warm, I couldn't go inside for more than a few minutes without sweating. I also had an extremely difficult time reaching over to grab the seat belt.
One of my runners grabbed a cup of water at one of the aid stations and was greeted by a block of ice when he went to take a sip...

I talked with someone yesterday who went down to Phoenix last week for the marathon/half, and would you believe it, it was down in the 20's at the start of that race, too. It got up to 55* by the end, but still.
