Can't say I'm surprised, based on the photo. Scroll down the page just enough so the head is cut off ... I'll be darned if that doesn't look like a guy.

"...athletes were usually examined by a team of doctors, including a gynaecologist, endocrinologist and psychologist, and put through physical and clinical examinations during a gender test..."
I'm not sure what types of tests a gynaecologist would perform, but I'd think that while looking at her hormones and psycology there would be a bit of leeway as to what would be a pass or fail for genders. Men and women aren't uniform in their endocrine or mental make up, and there are bound to be some women who have the mentality of a man, and hormones out of the ranges of average ranges of women, and the same for men.
I think the easiest and most difinitive way to tell would be a DNA test using just an easily obtainable smear from the inside of the mouth. It wouldn't be the cheapest or the quickest, but its got to be better than a hormone and psycology test.

I always figured that really only a visual test would be needed for something like that. It ought to be easy enough to tell from that. _________________ Je suis rapide! |
