I was getting back into awesome shape but have had to go indoors to run because of the heat/humidity in Louisiana. Its brutal and harsher than most summes I've endured since I came here.

Oh yeah. The way the weather has been the last month or so down south it is hard to find a time that is comfortable to run. Even though the temp is lower in the mornings the humidity tends to be higher so that isn't much help.

Haven't posted in a while but everything is going tolerably well. I even raced a 10K a couple of weeks ago. I was cruising along with a lady from the local running club and when we reached 4 miles at 40:16 we realized we had a lot left in the tank so we pushed it and finished in just under an hour. Legs felt good and the training is going well too. I'll be looking at another 10K in October.

What exactly is tolerably good? As in, not too bad but not great, either, or you can tolerate things being good for a while? Sort of like Yeats', "the Irish man has an abiding sense of tragedy that sustains him through temporary periods of joy"?

Yeats? Now this site is going to get real classy!! Very Happy

I guess tolerably well means I'm not running fast but I am running pain free. I've done 9 races this year which is way more than last year and even though they are mostly slow some have been small enough that I have won age group medals. Clear as mud?

And I am decended from the Irish. Wink
