[/quote][/b]My team and I are wanting to change our team chant. Our chant is "The fast you run, the fast your done."
At a meet a certain team tool our chant and have said it a couple of times. We dont know what our chant should be. Do you got any ideas?

We run fast.
You're gonna get last.

Micah ... My man ... That's' deadly ... LOL ...

Course not sure you could use my chant either ... When I was in high school (a long time ago) the team would form a circle around me for warm up exercises ... Then once we were finished I would yell out "Why are we here" ... To wit they would reply "To kick ass and take names" ...

Put fear into our opponents .... Not sure how PC that is today though ...

I like Conway's suggestion. It may not be PC but we don't compete to be PC, do we?

my team always yelled out our team name on the starting line just before the race, it psyches out the competition

Are you sure about that? Most athletes I've seen just laugh at the various chants. The only intimidating ones are the ones from intimidating teams, and that has nothing to do with the chant itself...

If it fires you up, that's great, but don't expect it to have any effect on the competition.

Micah

In college I was an 800m man with great speed but not to much ability to handle high mileage on the roads. One Sunday while doing a measured 12 miler loop and got to mile 5 and my shin started hurting bad and I was having a good run (6:15-6:30 pace), mad as hell I thought, "I'LL GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO HURT FOR" and proceeded to run the next 6 miles at 5:40-5:50 pace. My shins was definitely hurting and I gave them something to hurt for and iced them after the 1 mile warmdown.

ok, I don't know if it psyched out the competition or not, it probably didn't but I like to think it did, but when we started doing it we started placing better, even winning two meets (including our conference meet, private schools in va are grouped into conferences for high school)

It really doesn't matter if it psychs out the other team or not. If it makes your team run faster then it works! Very Happy

only chant if you're good. otherwise, you'll all look like fools. most importantly, have fun.
