1am, first full coat of mud is up... Somehow, I figured one 12 lb pail of mud would be enough for the whole room, but I used nearly three of them on the first coat alone. Looks like I'll need to make trip #119 to Lowe's tomorrow to restock (again)...

Have you ever thought of doing this stuff for a living? _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Are you kidding? I've spent three and a half weeks working on a single room and have developed short-term arthritis in all ten fingers ... that would be a rough way to make a living. I'll be completely broken down (and broke) by the time I finish this.

Mudding is nearly done and I got the tile laid last night. It'll be ready for grouting this evening, which means a rare day of not being able to work in the bathroom...

Good, this will give you a chance to update your pictures! Your final picture with the sheetrock in place looks great. I assume all the fixtures are still out on the porch. _________________ Paul

Toilet(s) on the porch, sink in the living room... Where else would you suggest I put things?
Pictures ... yes, I suppose I ought to take a few more. I might wait until the grout is in this evening, as it'll look much more refined. We'll see, though.

I just figured you hadn't set any fixtures in place, yet. _________________ Paul

Technically, I probably should've completed mudding, then textured, primed, and painted the walls, then put the counter in place, then tiled. I didn't want to wait that long on the flooring, though, so I measured and measured and measured ... oh, and measured carefully to make sure it will drop into place (it overhangs the tiles by a fair amount on the front and side). Unless I royally screwed that up, it should be pretty easy to set that in when the walls are done, then do the final grout to merge it with the line of tiles.
The toilet will be the last to go in, of course.

Tiling's done, other than the sealant which will be next weekend. I'm extremely pleased with how it turned out, aside from two minor mistakes in the cuts that no one will ever notice unless I point them out.

Yes, and a sense of achy knees and a hand that falls asleep several times a day...

Might as well combine this thread into a strength training topic...
I told Paul a week or two ago that all this demolition work was doing wonders for my upper body strength, but not so much for my lungs and legs. I had just upped my "PR" for dips from 44 to 45 and then to 50. Two days ago I again upped it to 55, then came back with sets of 40, 45, and 45. I'm still a bit sore today, but just think how many I ought to be able to do when my fingers and wrists aren't so swollen that I can barely grip the handles and my muscles are actually rested... 60+ definitely, and maybe even into the 70's.
I've gotten a couple runs in the past week and a half, and boy do I have some work to do...
