what do M.C. Escher, Steve Prefontaine, Kurt Godel, and Johann Bach have in common?
The University of Oregon!!! Escher, Godel and Bach are intruiging subject matter treated in the book titled "Godel, Escher, Bach: an eternal golden braid." The book is written by Douglas R. Hofstadter, whom received his Phd. in Physics (i think) from the University of Oregon (i am sure, thus the pre relationship). The book falls into the subject of metamathematics and is well over 700 pages of encrypted messages, word plays, etc, all the while weaving a braid that connects three of the greatest figures in art, mathematics and music.
i have not read the work. The ISBN for the book is
0394756827
good day and good reading.
