Bahamas relay will not be in Athens .. but it's strange: they have 2 competitors like TONIQUE WILLIAMS and CHRISTINE AMERTYL _________________ “But the most important thing is that you're having fun. What's their 3rd and 4th best? Small countries tend to have a pretty steep dropoff in talent, and the Bahamas is primarily known for the short sprints.

Yeah ... Off the top of my head I don't know who they have in the 400 ... But I would imagine not much ...
The women['s 4x4 should eadily belong to Russia this year ... they have much more talent than anyone else ... the US should be in medal contention though ... Perhaps the silver ... _________________ Conway

The US should be able to field 3 athletes between 49.5 and 50.5, possibly with a 4th just a couple ticks behind. That's pretty strong, but Russia is fast and deep...

If the US can get a sub 51 lead off, I see them splitting sub 50's from there out ... I think that will get the silver though, as I see Russia with at least one 48.x split and possibly two ...
I'm also currious to see how creative the US coaches are ... I would use two hurdlers and two open competitors ... But I'm not sure if the coahces have those kind of cohones .... _________________ Conway

I would think the hurdler from UCLA can turn in a pretty strong relay leg. Trotter as the 4th fastest would be a nice team.

Don't sleep on Demus ... She should have won the Trials 400H race .... but hit that one hurdle bad and stumbled in ... She is faster than Johnson ... This team has a lot of potential fire power ...
Sheena Johnson
Lashinda Demus
Sanya Richards
Dee Dee Trotter
Monique Hennagan
Monique Henderson
Jeral Miles Clark
Just, unfortunatly Russia can call our bluff and raise us two !!!! _________________ Conway

With such depth could we see 2 women's teams breaking 3:20 for the first time in a long while? I think so... _________________ Doubt whom you will, But never yourself.

That is certainly often true ... But I like this group ... Believfe it or not the one I have the least confidence in is Miles Clark ... And only cause of her age and I just don't think she can turn it on like she used to ... But this group of youngsters is pretty strong ... They have good collegiate coaches ... And they are battle tested against each other ... All of them, except Hennagan, have run sub 50 legs on multiple occasions ... I like their chances .. _________________ Conway

don't forget Russia: Kotkyarova is in good form, Nazarova as well _________________ “But the most important thing is that you're having fun. It's not about the results or being number one in the world, it's about feeling satisfied and enjoying it.” Carolina Kluft |

As I said earlier, I consider Russia to be the favorite ... I fully expect either Kotlyarova or Nazarova (or both) to splilt under 49 ... Krasnomovets will be close ... These women are fast and consistent ... And Russia has been strong in this event since it first starting being contested back in the 70's ... _________________ Conway
