I don't kow where Double has been lately but he had a great race at the Ice Age Trail 50. I hope he will come back and give us all the details about it. Suffice to say that he was in the top five. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Sounds good by any standard.

It was a good run for me. I was pretty beat up after the 100k on 4/4. So much that simple running was a chore. About a week before, I was able to start feeling somewhat myself and planned for a conservative start at Ice Age. By 20 miles I was in 8th and I just kept grinding along, hoping others would come back to me. At 37, I got the indication that 3 runners were within 7 minutes and over the next 5.5 miles I caught those three. I then set sail the best I could to chase down 4th. Running as fast as I had all day, I got to within 100 yards of Joel, but he wouldn't crack. We hammered up hills and through the rocks, down washed out hillsides and through zig zags, but I couldn't close on him. Joel finished in 4th just 15 seconds out of 3rd and set a PR at Ice Age. I was just over a minute behind Joel for 5th.
Not my best Ice Age, but my most satisfying as a race and climbing off the ash pile.
I am now thinking of the Kettle Moraine 100 mile in three weeks again this year.
Thanks for asking, keep the faith.

Very well done. And even better, now I know who you are.

That is outstanding Double. It boggles my mind to imagine running 37 miles and then starting your "final sprint" with 13 miles to go. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Great job on reading your body and being patient. Two things on which I need to improve. _________________ Paul
