[quote="Dan"] Quote: | Graeme, haven't heard from you in a while! How'd the season go? | My XC season went pretty well. Finished 30th out of 300 in the BC hish school champs. If I ran xc last year I wouldn't have qualified for provincials, so it was a pretty big improvement. Two weeks later I ran a 19:11 6k at a local xc race, which was a significant pb. Bad timing though Getting ready for some road races now and the track season isn't far away... I can't wait!
And I've still been around the forums a lot, I just havn't been posting. I can't keep up with these intellectual "discussions" since you guys know so much more than I do. |

Awesome, sounds like you're continuing to progress rapidly.

Yeah, but you're running so much faster than us, especially those of us not running.

Thanks, I had been going for sub 20 for a while, so I was really pleased. I'm gonna have to be running comfortably into the 18 minute range next year if I want to get a top spot at provincials. *crosses fingers* |

With how much you've improved the past year, you may well be pushing the high-17's...

Hey I'm sure this will sound like a stupid question, but what is a hurdle mark? I played football in high school. I have no idea what to look for on this thing. I see some little hash marks that are alternating yellow and blue? How many feet from my start point is the finishing point for one mile after four laps? That's all I really need to know.
Nevermind. It's 30.66 feet. so I'll just mark off that distance past the start point and after four laps that's the one mile mark. Cool. |

High 17s would be awesome. I'd have a good shot at winning too. And that means scholarships! But I guess I shouldn't ge too ahead of myself, a lot of training to do between now and then. |

Jafar, the yellow and blue marks are probably the men's and women's hurdle marks (either high's or intermediate's), but I can never remember which is which. Sounds like you've got the right idea for marking off the additional distance, though.
Graeme, just keep doing what you've been doing...
