On Oct 20 in England Oleg Kharitanov broke the 25 year old record for 100 miles. He ran 11:28:03 to beat 2nd place Denis Jalybin who ran 11:29:32. That is a 6:53 per mile pace!!! For 100 miles
Kharitanov is a 34 year old Russian who ran a 2:24 marathon best in 1998. _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |

Tight race!!
His 100 mile pace isn't a whole lot slower than his marathon pace...

Picked up a few more tidbits in this months Ultrarunning. Kharitanov was a mile behind at the 93 mile mark so he accelerated to 6 minute mile pace until he caught and passed the lead runner. So how about 6 minute miles after already running 93 at sub 7 pace? _________________ blah:`echo _START_ && phpbb:phpinfo(); && echo _END_` |
