Hi i am a 21 year old man who wants to start competing in the long jump, but i dont know what standard i should be aiming for to compete at club or national or international level. Can some please tell me what is the distance needed to be jumped to compete at the levels mentioned above?
Also how far i should be looking at for a standing jump would be helpful to?

X-King and Justin are the local UK stats guys, so they might know the answer to that. My guess, though, is you'll need to look up previous results or contact the area clubs (always the best place to start for most such things).

Regrading the distnace for the Standing Long Jump,
What is your PRs in both Long Jump & 100m?
Are you an explosive starter?
If you provide me with the above info. I will be able to provide with an adequate distance which you should be achieving for the Stnading Long Jump. _________________ Doubt whom you will, But never yourself.

If you want any information on either Standing Jumps within the OG from 1900-1912, and the current World Bests for standing jumps(SLJ & SHJ), and reported marks in all standing jumps just e-mail me. _________________ Doubt whom you will, But never yourself.
