Be careful of what exactly?

Sure running in the heat gets you hot and tires you out more quickly. However, if you have drinks out on the course and don't push it as hard, there is nothing wrong with running in the heat. Maybe avoid the hottest part of the day but in most places you can still run fairly well without worrying too much about the heat.

Start slower and work up to a pace that feels comfortable. Don't worry about having to stop to drink. Your daily runs aren't a race and shouldn't be treated as such. Run. Don't use the weather as an excuse.

Where do you live Leechboy? Down here in southeast Georgia you had better keep the heat and humidity in mind all the time. May thru Sep I don't take a step over 4 miles without a water bottle. Even at 6:00am I have had high 70's temp and mid 80's humidity. Noon runs of 90's and 80's that have to be done at a snails pace.
