Does anyone here all of a sudden go up on their forefeet or toes on the last 200-100m? I don't know because I definitely don't keep landing the same when I kick to the finish. I only land on the very front part of my feet, I don't even feel the rest of my feet touching the ground anymore and it's like I look like a sprinter coming out of the blocks with 200m to go. It's something that I purposely do because if I keep landing the same way as I usually do and I'm giving it my all on the last 100, it just feels like my legs are refusing to go any faster unless I start to literally puncture the ground with my forefeet. It doesn't feel like I'm pushing harder, it feels like I go into sprint mode and running just feels completely different on my legs than it did during most of the race. Steve, do you do this too? What about you Dan, when you used to run sub 5:00 mile, did you do the same as well?

It didn't happen naturally for me, but I learned to do it with a lot of work.

Oh right, I think I remember that from reading the "toe running" paragraph. There's just something about it that makes your body move faster like a sprinter does (faster elbow drives, aggressive leg movement).
