The real reason anyone tenses up in any event is ... they do think.
This is why they do not say "think," but "execute" with respect to any races in between 50 yards and 500 m.
You are supposed to think before an explosive exercise or bout, but not during.
SGT Davis was always telling me "Ski you are thinking too much."
Thinking, when unnecessary, makes you tense and slow.
Example:
A commandor (let say SGT Ross), and the gunner (let say SPC Kolakowski) while surveying the area from a top of the hill, one in the bushes taking care of number one, noticed 'enemy' advancing on their position.
Both confirm: 'enemy.'
Both run into the vehicle: one 'tree--climbes' into the Hammer and aims the FN MAG at the enemy, the orther gives order to fire: once firing SPC "Ski" uses tunel vision and singular focus, does not think, while SGT Ross watches their back.
More intelligent you are, harder it is not to think!

That's exactly what Usain Bolt said after he broke the WR with 9.69. He said "I didn't think about the record, I just went out and executed."

As to protein, I would not be certain -- fish and eggs are the best sources of protein, and the Japanese love fish. Smile

I knew you would mention fish but why do so many articles mention that Asians have low protein diets? Whatever it is, they're still smaller than Americans and people of Slavik decent. You don't hear much about Asian bodybuilders or Asian sprinters. The fish there has no hormones in it.

Let's leave diet alone now. Americans are BORN huge. Leaving aside the fast food too, America has a bunch of kids with low metabolisms. We all know that this is a health issue. Americans are bigger and live less, Asians are smaller and live longer. The life expectancy for men in Japan is 77, for women it's 84...
