Alright, question -- who else runs in the heat of the day? I'm not one for waking up early to avoid the heat or running at night (that's my relaxing time) so even in the summer heat I still run in the middle of the day. I wear a camel back and drink about 2 L of hyge in an hour run.

Of course I sweat like a faucet, but I feel like I get a great workout. Plus on race day.. I'm well weathered (pardon the pun) Very Happy

I'm with you. I used to do the bulk of my running in the heat of the day, figuring that's the best way to acclimate to it. Now, I fit my running in around the coaching schedule, so it's a bit more varied.

I run at about 10-1 a.m. during the summer. Temperatures go over 95 degrees here. I try to avoid water during running at all costs, it weakens me. It cools me down and I don't feel that same heat and force in my body in running anymore. Anyways, sometimes I push myself so hard that I throw up after an interval or two. It doesn't happen every time but occasionally. I believe that the diaphragm is working so hard that it's pushing on the stomach+fast running throws your organs around inside like a salad. And man do I start to beg for mercy in an interval when I am only 400m into a mile... Surprised I like heat, I think it even helps the energy system more in regulating energy levels.

I am incapable of reaping any benefits of my workouts, if temperature crosses 90 and humidity crosses 90 at the same time.
My rule of thumb is ... any time under 85F.
I went through puberty back in Poland, and ... I did never adjust to the heat and humid of Ft Bening, GA; the only reason that I did graduate on time was that ... it got cooler in the second part of September and 1st of October.
The same did happen, but by the mid-September (he was 10 years younger) to a dark-skinned African--American man from ... Michigan, of course.
Neithert of us did quit or fall down; we both simply got sick and ended-up in Infirmary after a visit to a Hospital. Drinking water did only delay the affects of the incapability to adjust to the climate.

Once in a while I go early, but usually I either go in the evening when it's cooling down, or I go in the heat of the day when I don't feel like waiting. I too think it's nice to get used to the heat, and I don't sweat as badly as some.

They say that the faster you sweat the more fit you are. Sweating is a good thing, it's your body's response to temperature and exercise. However, sweating in a certain amount of time is what determines your fitness level. And overweight people are the only exception because they need to use more energy than others, plus the fat cells trap heat within their body, causing them to sweat faster.
