I ran cc in high school, but not track cause my school didn't have a track team, I did road races instead. I finished my senior year of cc with a stress fracture at state meet, where I should have been top 5 or easily top 10 all state. I started running again in May and I have found myself to be lacking motivation. I am not eating right, some weeks I only run 5 times(I used to do 7). Even with a month of training, I am close to 40 seconds per mile slower, I am not running in college, at least not my first year, I want to get back in shape and maybe make my school(ncaa d1)'s team by 2nd year, what can I do to regain motivation?

Ward's Worthless Opinion.

The key to staying motivated is to have a goal and it sounds like you have one. Making your college team is certainly a worthy goal. I would suggest you get back into the road race scene so that you will have specific races to train for and plenty of feedback when you race them.

Pick out a race and let us know about it. We will certainly provide you with encouragement.

I agree with Micah. Set several gradients of goals, with making the college team probably being a middle one. Start with ones like getting back into 7 days a week, getting back to XC conditioning level, etc.
